06.11.2008, Santhera Pharmaceuticals (SIX: SANN), ein auf neuromuskuläre Erkrankungen fokussiertes Schweizer Spezialitätenpharma­unternehmen, gibt heute bekant, dass sich Ares Life Sciences, ein Investmentvehikel der Familie Bertarelli, im Rahmen einer Privatfinanzierung mit CHF 15,9 Millionen am Unternehmen beteiligt. Santhera platziert insgesamt 370'082 neue Namensaktien zu einem Preis von CHF 43.00 pro Aktie, was einer Prämie von 3.7 % gegenüber dem Volumen gewichteten Durchschnittpreis der letzten fünf Handelstage entspricht. Die Transaktion stärkt die finanzielle Flexibilität von Santhera und stellt eine positive Bestätigung durch einen der weltweit grössten Biotech- Investoren dar.

The product is also under review by health authorities in the EU and in Switzerland for the same indication, while in the United States a pivotal phase III trial is recruiting patients. SNT- MC17 has recently shown efficacy as a potential treatment in DMD, the compound's second indication.
