Reading time: 2 minutes51-year-old Jean-Paul de Weck, from French-speaking Switzerland, is an electrical engineering graduate with an MBA from the University of Lausanne. He has worked for Swisscom for 22 years in various positions and has headed units in the fixed-network and mobile communications area. He has also successfully implemented projects aimed at increasing efficiency and facilitating convergence of operating units. As Head of Network & Service Delivery at Swisscom Mobile, he has managed the Group company's entire network and IT operations since 2005. After five years as CEO of Swisscom Broadcast, Giovanni Conti, 44, will become Head of Governance in the Network & Informatics division of Swisscom (Switzerland) Ltd, where his main responsibility will be to oversee network and IT development. Martin Häusermann, 46, will become the new CEO of Swisscom Real Estate Ltd. The electrical engineering graduate with a post-graduate qualification from the Insead Management Institute was previously Head of Facility Management at Swisscom Real Estate. He will replace William Angst on 1 December 2007, the date when Mr Angst's mandate comes to an end.
Urs Schmidig and Wolfgang Weber will leave Swisscom
In connection with the merger of the Fixnet, Mobile and Solutions units, Urs Schmidig and Wolfgang Weber will leave Swisscom.
Urs Schmidig, a member of the Executive Board of Swisscom Fixnet Ltd, has managed the fixed-network end-customer business for the last two years. Urs Schmidig was previously CEO of the former Bluewin AG for five years and played a key role in the company's development.
Wolfgang Weber has been a member of the Executive Board of Swisscom Mobile for five years, with responsibility for technology. An integrated, market-oriented organisation evolved under his leadership, setting new trends in the Swiss telecommunications market, for example, in nationwide mobile broadband communications.
The CEO and Executive Board would like to thank Urs Schmidig, Wolfgang Weber and William Angst for their outstanding contribution and commitment to Swisscom.
