Von Roll Holding Ltd: Achim Klotz appointed CEO of Von Roll Group

December 18, 2012, The Von Roll Holding AG Board of Directors has appointed Achim Klotz, currently executive management member and Divisional Head Advanced Materials at Bühler AG, Uzwil, as new CEO of the Von Roll Group. Klotz succeeds the current CEO Matthias Oppermann, who will be leaving the company. Board Chairman Dr. Peter Kalantzis will act as CEO ad interim until Achim Klotz takes office during the first half of 2013.


Achim Klotz (52) graduated in mechanical engineering at Darmstadt Technical University (Germany) and in marketing and business administration at the European Business School, Wiesbaden. Since 1998 he has been Divisional Head Diecasting at the Bühler Group, from 2001 to 2005 he additionally took over Bühler North America, and in 2009 he was appointed Divisional Head Advanced Materials, covering all non-food activities of the Group. In this position he is responsible for the production, research & development, sales and service, erection and process technology activities of four business units. Thanks to his years of business experience and his management skills in technically demanding fields, Achim Klotz is well equipped for resolutely implementing the Von Roll Group strategy.

The Board of Directors sincerely thanks the departing CEO Matthias Oppermann for his services, and wishes him all the best for his personal and professional future.

As CEO ad interim the Board of Directors has appointed its Chairman Dr. Peter Kalantzis, who in teamwork with CFO Stefan Kellmann and the board members will ensure the continuity of company leadership in the meantime.
