Swisscom simplifies payment in app stores

September 04, 2013, Swisscom customers can now pay for the purchases they make in app stores simply and conveniently via their mobile phone bill. Swisscom is the first provider in Switzerland to offer this innovative and practical service: apps, music, games and a lot more besides can be ordered and paid for directly via a smartphone or tablet.
Until now customers had to pay for their purchases in app stores such as Google Play Store or BlackBerry World by credit card or PayPal. With Direct Carrier Billing Swisscom offers its customers a new, safe and convenient alternative method of payment: paying for their purchases via their mobile phone bill. This service can currently be used for purchases made via a smartphone, tablet or computer from the following providers: Google Play Store, BlackBerry World and the Facebook App Center. This offer will be extended at the end of September 2013 to include the Microsoft App Store, Samsung App Store and the Samsung Hub, with even more providers to be added in future.
Safe and convenient payment for postpaid and prepaid customers This is how it works: customers can now select as a payment option "Pay through Swisscom bill" in the respective app store. The amount will be added to their monthly mobile phone bill. The amount will be deducted directly from the current credit of prepaid customers.
