Reading time: 2 minutesAndermatt Surselva Sport AG, a 100% subsidiary of Andermatt Swiss Alps AG, is able to present a well- known partner with Swedish operator SkiStar AB concurrent to the ongoing takeover of a principal stake in mountain railway companies AGS and SB. Bo Halvardsson, Technical Director of SkiStar, will head the operations of Andermatt Surselva Sport AG as of September 15, 2012.
The responsibilities of SkiStar include project management of the planned modernization and expansion works, support in technical and commercial matters as well as marketing efforts for the Andermatt- Sedrun ski destination. In a first phase, which ends within a year, co-operation between SkiStar and ASS will be limited to operations. Discussion of a more profound and long- term co-operation is ongoing.

In an initial step investments of CHF 130 million are planned. Important components of this investment are the modernization of the ski lifts and the connection of the Andermatt-Oberalp- Sedrun ski areas through new lifts and trails. Along the picturesque slopes between Nätschen- Gütsch and Oberalp snowmaking equipment will ensure an uninterrupted operation throughout the entire winter season. New restaurants and summer season attractions are also planned for the new ski area. Construction is scheduled to commence in 2013.
