Schlatter invests in service business in South East Asia

04.11.2008, Schlieren. The Schlatter Group (SIX Swiss Exchange: STRN) is using the takeover of NSE Machinery SDN.BHD., Malaysia, to strengthen its presence in South East Asia. In taking over this well established service company for resistance welding machines, Schlatter is creating a platform for the regional expansion of its activities in the welding sector. Schlatter's service expertise in the weaving sector is also to be further developed.


Based in Ipoh, Malaysia, NSE Machinery specializes in the installation and maintenance of resistance welding machines. The company's offering includes a repair service for electrical and electronic components and assemblies. NSE Machinery boasts an experienced workforce with a broad specialist know-how based on many years' cooperation as service agents, in particular for the upkeep of Schlatter welding equipment. Under the acquisition concluded on October 29, 2008, the Schlatter Group has also succeeded in bringing in the founder and the entire workforce of NSE Machinery.

The Schlatter Group will use the new location to launch the regional expansion of its activities in the welding sector. Under the new name of Schlatter South East Asia, the subsidiary is also to be developed into a South East Asia service hub for the weaving sector.
