Pierangelo Campopiano becomes new Head of Sales

The Board of Directors of AXA Switzerland has appointed Pierangelo Campopiano as Head of the Distribution Division and a member of the Executive Board.

Pierangelo Campopiano currently serves as Head of the Customer & Market Division and is a member of the Executive Board at CSS Group. From 2018 to 2024, he was CEO of the online insurer Smile, which was then a subsidiary of Helvetia Group and is now part of the new Helvetia Baloise.

Previously, Pierangelo Campopiano held various senior positions at Zurich Group. Among other roles, he was Head of Partnerships & Direct Sales from 2012 to 2015 and Head of Sales Strategy & Change from 2017 to 2018 at Zurich Switzerland. Between 2015 and 2017, he served as Head of Strategic Marketing & Distribution Services at Farmers Insurance Group in Los Angeles.

The 47-year-old Swiss-Italian dual citizen holds a diploma in Business Administration (HF), an Executive Master in Customer Relationship Management & Marketing from the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW), and has completed an Advanced Management Program at the Executive School of the University of St. Gallen.

The appointment of Pierangelo Campopiano is subject to the necessary regulatory approvals.
