Orange launches the iPhone 3G in Switzerland

iPhone 3G: Orange network & Public WLAN

The Orange HSDPA coverage reaches approximately 85 percent of the Swiss population. The actual download speed of up to 3.6 mbps will be increased to 7.2 mbps by the end of this year. With UMTS, Orange provides a mobile internet connection that is between three to six times faster than EDGE and GPRS. Today, the Orange UMTS coverage reaches approximately 95 percent of the Swiss population. With the help of the Orange GIS tool, finding areas with HSDPA or UMTS reception is easy. Simply enter an address to see immediately whether there is any HSDPA or UMTS coverage in that particular area. Orange Switzerland offers also a large national and international PWLAN coverage.
