Nationale Suisse streamlines its Executive Board

October 22, 2008, The two Business Units Niches 1 and 2 will be merged into a single organisational unit on 1 November 2008. Wolfgang Gemünd, currently Head of Business Unit Niches 1, will assume leadership of the new business unit. Angelo Eggli, a member of the Executive Board and currently responsible for Business Unit Niches 2, has decided to leave Nationale Suisse and pursue a new professional challenge.
Today's Business Unit Niches 1 is comprised of the subsidiaries in Italy and Spain and the European travel insurance line in Switzerland, as well as the legal expenses insurance line; Niches 2 includes the companies in Germany and Belgium, the smile.direct direct insurance business, as well as the technical and marine insurance lines. These two business units are being merged in the context of further simplifying and optimising the management structure. Nationale Suisse sees this streamlining of the Executive Board, accompanying more decisive action aimed at pro-active marketing, as an invigorating factor making the company even more dynamic.
Angelo Eggli is leaving Nationale Suisse on 31 October 2008. He started his role as Head of Business Unit Niches 2 in December 2005 and played his part in supporting the new strategic direction launched in September 2005 with commitment and success. The Board of Directors and Executive Board would like to thank Angelo Eggli for his strong commitment to Nationale Suisse and wish him all the best for the future.
