Swisscom will begin the project starting from August 2012 and will operate FINMA’s entire ICT infrastructure starting from the beginning of 2013. Swisscom IT Services will migrate all of the servers with the corresponding storage environment into its own data centres and will update the entire infrastructure by the summer of 2013. The specialists will take care of the technical application management and ensure high availability of workplace services at workstations including Microsoft Exchange as well as a decentralised printing environment with multifunction printers. FINMA is also handing over 2nd and 3rd level support for infrastructure services to Swisscom IT Services.

IT and telecommunications from a single source
Swisscom Switzerland also looks after the state supervisory authority’s computer network, including the Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN), at four locations and the telephony. As the state supervisory authority, FINMA has stringent requirements in terms of the security, high availability and cost effectiveness of an IT partner. In Swisscom, FINMA has found the perfect, trustworthy partner.
