Orell Füssli reinforces its textbook segment

February 20, 2013, Orell Füssli Holding Ltd, Zurich, is acquiring the Fuchs publishing house in Rothenburg (Switzerland), thus reinforcing its publishing group’s textbook segment. This acquisition will take effect retrospectively as of January 1, 2013.


The Fuchs publishing house, established 25 years ago, has specialised in publications for students in vocational and secondary education colleges. It focuses on textbooks and educational aids in subjects such as German, civics and economics, as well as general educational topics such as law, business administration, decision-forming, ecology and ethics. Fuchs’s publishing programme will be integrated in the textbook segment of Orell Füssli Publishing Ltd.

Jakob Fuchs, founder and present owner of the Fuchs publishing house, will assist Orell Füssli Publishing in the coming years in a consultancy role. "I am delighted to have found in the shape of Orell Füssli Publishing a competent publisher of high repute who will continue to publish our books. I personally am glad to place my experience and knowledge at the disposal of Orell Füssli Publishing."
